Hey guys! What are your strengths and weaknesses in your everyday world?

I want to share mine and talk a little bit about how I am slowly, now when I say SLOWLY that’s exactly what it is. Haha I am slowly overcoming this obstacle within my business. I am trying to teach my clients to have an open mind and not to follow the trends so much! Remember how I talked about location in my last post? This is something that I have struggled with since I first started photography. I admit, I thought that having the BEST locations was going to make me a great photographer. WRONG!

It is so much more that just that. . . .There is so much more that goes into photography than finding a gorgeous place to shoot, placing your subjects in front of it and calling it a day. Lately I have found myself scouting the “not so pretty” locations. Because I have found, that if I don’t build a relationship with my subjects and I don’t try my best to reach out and get to know them. . .I could photograph them in front of the Empire State Building, and yeah it would make a cool photo. BUT that’s just that, there wouldn’t be a connection or story behind it.

Location should help and should take a role in what you are trying to portray through your photos. I captured Karicia’s Prequince photographs in her hometown at The Sacred Heart Church. Her mom chose that because it was memories that she wanted for her. As much as I love traveling out of town, for us that live about 2.5 hours from a beautiful location it’s sometimes difficult. This is something that I understand. So I encourage you to look for something you love around your city or town. I am always open to it, and it just makes sense!

Something to think about next time you are looking to have your photographs captured! Enjoy the images I am sharing with you all of Karicia’s Prequince, because her dress was gorgeous!!

Karicia’s dress was beyond beautiful and something that will stand the test of time. You can’t go wrong with a dress that beautifully traditional. I loved working on these for her, and I hope that she loves them too!
