Jocelyn | At the McNay Art Museum--The Force is Female
Senior Shoot at the lovely Mc Nay Art Museum with my Senior Jocelyn.
It was my 2nd Senior for 2020 and it was inspired by the basketball outfit that she chose. She wanted the McNay to be her backdrop because it offered that modern touch|backdrop that she wanted for her basketball fit but also had all the greenery and history for the other outfits that she incorporated. Which I LOVED so much, another girl just keeping it classy. I remember sharing what I felt would live on vs seeking what trends there are out there. I love anything that is in current style but also feels that it could last a lifetime if that makes any sense. Lately the topic of “who are we as individuals” has been in my mind. It has inspired me to write this blog. Are we really who we are in front of the camera or are we a version of what we wish to be or portray to be. Something that everyone will like oppose to being something that we ourselves love and like. I feel that is a great question when you are choosing outfits, location, scenes or visions for your session. Be who you truly wish to be! Don’t worry about what is in style, who’s doing what and how. You owe it to your future self to be exactly who you are in that moment despite what society might pressure you to be. I feel that Jocelyn nailed it, she stayed true to herself and brought outfits she felt comfortable in and stood with her head held high. She expressed herself by showing us the diverse person she is. A love for basketball as a teen and also her love for just being herself. Here is her Senior session and I hope you feel it’s as amazing as I do!
